In celebration of Black History Month, we are proud to support the Black Innovation Program (BIP) at the Ryerson DMZ, a first-of-its-kind program in Canada that aims to strengthen black entrepreneurship and advocates for race equity, which has long been missing in the startup ecosystem.
This Black History Month represents a unique opportunity to reflect on the anti-black and systemic racism highlighted by recent events that have impacted the black community in Canada and globally. We believe this month is a chance to reflect on these movements and bring about positive change, by acknowledging the transformative work that Black Canadians are having on their communities, and to support them as we move forward.
As finance and accounting recruiters, we know that there are many successful black CPAs, entrepreneurs, start-up leaders and finance professionals that make up Canada’s businesses and high growth companies. At Clarity Recruitment, our mission is to improve decision making in hiring, and to remove the bias in our clients’ hiring decisions. Our goal is to support black professionals, and to be an ally throughout their careers.
Our donation is just the beginning of bringing visibility to Canada’s talented black business community. To continue our support in recognizing their contributions long after Black History Month is over, we will be launching a series that profiles the many successful black CPAs, entrepreneurs, start-up leaders and finance professionals. We believe that showcasing successful black leaders will give greater reach and opportunities to this underrepresented group that offers so much to Canada’s start-up and business community.
Join us to break down the barriers that black CPAs, entrepreneurs, start-up leaders and finance professionals face and support the Black Innovation Program at DMZ Ryerson, by making your donation here.About the AuthorCheck out more of our popular articles on Career AdvicePopular Articles
